On 15 March, “Praktilise eetika käsiraamat” received the best university textbook award 2023 at the Language Deed appreciation event of the Ministry of Education and Research.

On 27 October, the University of Tartu senate decided to award the Johan Skytte medal to Margit Sutrop, member of the Riigikogu and Professor of Practical Philosophy at the University of Tartu. The highest award granted to university members, the University of Tartu Grand Medal, is given to two university researchers for services of particular value. Also, the recipients of the University of Tartu Star of Appreciation, Medal, Badge of Distinction and the decoration “100 Semesters at the University of Tartu” have been selected.

Pauline Delahaye, Research Fellow at the Department of Semiotics, won the 2nd prize of the Young Researcher Award of Jane Goodall Institute France for her dedicated work in Zoosemiotics.

Based on the proposals submitted by students, the committee formed by the UT Student Union has chosen the recipients of the teaching staff of the year awards for 2022.

Rector of the University of Tartu Toomas Asser announced the university's contribution to society award, research award and language award and recipients of the teaching staff  of the year award.

Today, on 19 January, at the university's teaching conference, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Aune Valk presented the teaching awards and the teaching quality award of 2022.

On 1 December, the University of Tartu celebrates the 103rd anniversary of establishing the Estonian-language university.

Recipients of University of Tartu honorary decorations announced

On the eve of the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, Mari-Liis Madisson, Research Fellow in Semiotics at the University of Tartu, was awarded the €5,000 scholarship of Professor Peeter Tulviste Memorial Fund.

Based on the submitted proposals, a committee formed by the University of Tartu Student Union has chosen the recipients of the best teaching staff awards of 2021.
