Summary
In my talk, I will describe the possible non-reductive approaches to the nature of imagination. I will argue that imagination can be taken as a distinctive skill. Based on the insights from invariant theory in mathematics, I will hold that imagination is a matter of determining the states of information space to find invariant properties of the latter. I will illustrate this description with geometrical and non-geometrical examples. I will demonstrate that such a description offers a unified and non-reductive approach to imagination.
